Why we do what we do!

Douglas Michael "Mohawk" West passed away as the result of a bike/truck accident on May 29, 2013.

On September 22, 2013 we held a Bike-Run/BBQ as a way for all of his friends, that could make it, to say goodbye and share a lot of stories and laughs. This was also meant to be a simple Thank You BBQ for our Patriot Guard Riders, for all of the help and kindness that they had shown Erin and Alyssa. This was NOT expected to be a yearly event.

On August 10, 2014 we held a 2nd Bike-Run/BBQ for what would have been Mike/Mohawk's 60th Birthday weekend. We did a 60 mile memorial bike-run for what would have been his 60th birthday … and he was taken on his final ride by family friends, Patty & Dennis Ruda.

During the 2014 event we decided that we wanted to honor other families and their loved ones by continuing this event in the years to come.

The name of the event and the meaning behind the name will remain the same.

The Memorial Ride does not necessarily have to be 60 miles in future years but we do want to make sure that our event is done in memory of a loved one.

In 2016, 60 for 60 The Mohawk Run was classified as a Not For Profit and in 2018 we were Incorporated and became a full Not For Profit.

We are VERY happy and thankful to be able to host all of the fundraisers that we do each year.

Our donations are split between several Veteran causes each year.

100% OF OUR PROFITS GO TO OUR VETERANS!!!
